8th graders chose a 2D work of art to recreate in 3D. After choosing a piece and planning how to create in using different layers, they learned a few different way to make boxes. Then they had a day learning and practicing paper construction techniques and how to attach things so they stay sticking out. After many weeks of hard work, here are some of the results.
Students are currently in the middle of an independent study project. It was very exciting for them to be able to do nearly anything they wanted. Many students are creating sculptures with clay, paper mache, or plaster strips. Some are doing drawings and paintings. This project should take us nearly until the end of the school year.
