4th graders probably feel like they've been doing this project FOREVER! We made the clay frames a before we drew the cows with expression and glazed shortly after, but didn't get to weaving until after the cows.
When creating in clay, students got to decide the shape of the frame and to put the holes in a circle or two lines as well as any decoration they wanted to push or carve into the clay. 4th graders also got to decide their own glaze color combinations and layering for fun, unexpected outcomes.
These weavings are the result of a few very hardworking class periods to get the yarn just right. Students with extra time got the opportunity to create a larger weaving on cardboard that can be taken off. Expect to see these trickling home before the end of the year.
